Potential UT2004 DVD release

Despite the newly formed publishing deal between Microsoft and Epic games, Atari will be publishing the next in the Unreal franchise, Unreal Tournament 2004, and are planning a Limited Edition DVD-ROM version of the game, Epic's Mark Rein told Boomtown. Understandably this will be under demand considering the game currently fills 5-6 CDs and envelops six Gigabytes on your hard disk and it's not even finished yet. Epic are hoping for as many copies of the DVD edition, however 'there are some other things in that package that might limit its supply' said Mark Rein.

Apparently, a lot of important things still haven't been shown in screenshots, and won't be revealed until release. The single player ladder is being completely redone making you more of a team manager with winnings and losings and team members you can deploy, and comparing stats for trading characters will be much easier. With more new maps than the number that shipped for UT2003, and a string of constantly improving game types, the game is shaping up to be a marked improvement of last years visually impressive incarnation.
