Both the GameCube version of RTX Red Rock and the GameCube version of V-Rally 3 were cancelled today. This is yet another piece of bad news for Nintendo in the ongoing wave of cancellations of GameCube games, which at times seem to overshadow releases of big games like Metroid Prime.
RTX Red Rock is a sci-fi game developed by LucasArts and an official spokesperson stated:
- LucasArts has cancelled the GameCube version of RTX Red Rock and will instead focus its development efforts for the game on the PlayStation 2.
However, there was at least an encouraging hint, that LucasArts will make a major game announcement for the GameCube platform in the coming weeks.
At the same time Infogrames’ V-Rally 3, which was supposed to be released later this month, is now officially listed as cancelled in Nintendo of America’s game list. This is especially disappointing, since the game was an improved version of V-Rally 3 for the PS2.
